FNJ Condemns Maoist Ban on Circulation of Blast Times
Aug 7 - Maoists have prohibited circulation of Blast Times daily in Ilam district of Eastern Nepal. The vernacular daily is published from Dharan.
Condemning the Maoist action, the Federation of Nepalese Journalist (FNJ), in a press statement on Sunday, expressed grave concern and surprise over the prohibition imposed on circulation of the daily.
“This is an indication of dictatorial rule of the Maoists,” said the FNJ. “It shows that they are against free press and flow of opinions.”
The FNJ also called upon the Maoist leadership to direct its Ilam-based commander alias Umesh to withdraw his orders that forcefully imposed ban on circulation of Blast Times in the district.
