All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has brought forward programs focusing on the grass-root development and professionalism in the game at the Annual General Meeting held today at the ANFA Complex, Satdobato.
ANFA’s thrust will also be in the decentralization of the football activities. In this regard, ANFA has included the Under-14 Junior League in 37 districts in December along with inter-school competition for boys and girls in 40 districts and final round in Kathmandu in November.
According to the ANFA calendar, inter-club invitational tournament between clubs of neighboring countries will be held in December. Mahendra Gold Cup of Biratnagar, Aha Gold Cup of Pokhara, Budhasubba Gold Cup of Dharan and Tribhuvan Memorial Gold Cup of Jhapa will be held in between December 2004 and early-March 2005. The B Divison league is scheduled for December and January 2005 in Kathmandu.
In April next year, Kathmandu will host Inter-Municipality football and Inter-Academy football tournament while AFC Under-14 Festival of Football will be held in May.
The assembly was earlier inaugurated by Minister for Education and Sports Bimalendra Nidhi while National Sports Council’s member-secretary Kishore Bahadur Singh and district representative of Palpa Bhimsen Karki spoke on the occasion. Speaking at the occasion, ANFA president Ganesh Thapa promised for the transparency in financial transactions. Thapa also told the assembly about the association’s plan to employ at least a coach in each district for regular training.
In the Assemby, treasurer Birat Jung Shahi presented a financial report of Rs. 44,721,000 of the last financial year and the budget of Rs. 39,557,000 for the next financial year.
