DHARAN, Jan. 21: As the political dispute escalated over the construction of the Dharan Football Ground, Tribeni Club affiliated to the Brigade of Gorkhas, the institution of British Gorkha Army, has decided to withhold the financial assistance that it was giving for the construction. The Club's meeting in England decided not to provide the financial assistance amounting to Rs.

101,000 for the first phase of the ground construction. The club had halted the assistance for present due to the political dispute," said Madan Jimi president of the club.

The club had given responsibility to the Lok Prasad Limbu to hand over the money if the situation improves and said that it could cancel the help if the dispute continues. If the club finds out the money would be utilised, the assistance will be continued," Jimi added.

As the Dharan Football Club (DFC) formed the construction committee three months ago in the coordination of former Dharan mayor Manoj Kumar Meyangbo, the political parities including Nepali Congress blamed Nepal Communist Party (UML) of trying to bypass other parties role in the construction of the ground.

But the DFC denied about making any contract and understanding made with the Tribeni Club. President of DFC, Subash Rai said that the club had made contract with U.K Forum and informed that a team from it will be coming to Dharan for the feasibility study.

The club right now is working on the construction of the ground for the Budha Subba Gold Cup Football."
